Dr. Diane M. Janosek is an award-winning cybersecurity leader, attorney, author, and sought-after speaker. Areas of expertise include cybersecurity, compliance, privacy, technology, data policy, space security, international space governance, IoT, cyber education, and information security. A member of Defense Intelligence Senior Executive Service, currently serves as the National Security Agency’s Deputy Chief of Compliance. Previously served as Commandant National Cryptologic University and in leadership roles in NSA’s Directorate of Technology to include Deputy Chief Information Security Officer, and executive management positions. Dr. Janosek served as the first Chief Legal Officer of the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board and was also Legal Counsel at both the White House and the Pentagon.
Dr. Janosek is admitted to the United States Supreme Court. Dr. Janosek is certified in information and network security (CISSP) and ethics and compliance (LPEC). She loves learning and teaching and served as an Adjunct at National Intelligence University, and was a member of the White House’s Federal Committee on STEM Education. She is on Board of Advisors of Military Cyber Professionals Association and is Executive Director of Capitol Technology University’s Center for Women in Cyber.
Dr. Janosek has been honored her for her mentorship & advocacy in cybersecurity. She is a multiple award recipient being honored by The Daily Record for the 2023 Cybersecurity Power List, being inducted in the 2022 Hall of Fame by Information System Security Association International, being named 2022 Women in Cybersecurity Leader by MISI, and 2021 Cybersecurity Woman Leader the Year by CSWY International. She also received the 2021 Woman to Watch, and the 2020 Cyber Impact Award, Top 100 Women in Cybersecurity by Cyber Defense Magazine, the CybHER 2020 Warrior award, the 2019 WiCyS Affiliate Leadership Award, and the 2019 Cyber Warrior Woman of the Year.
Dr. Janosek has published dozens of articles in multiple cyber & legal disciplines, and has been interviewed by NBC, CBS, FOX, ABC, as well as radio stations and numerous podcasts, to include CyberWire, Outspoken, The Art of the Hustle, American Bar Association Business Law, and the CISO Series. She spoke at DEFCON, RSA, WiCyS and many other international events, and was highlighted in the Cyber Ventures’ documentary “Women Know Cyber,” as well as National Geographic’s “Inside the NSA- America’s Cyber Secrets.” She is passionate about giving back.
