Laura has 15 years of experience in Education, 10 in Educational Technology. Former industry experience includes educational policy research & data analysis (Dept. of Education), grant-writing and multi-media product development, as well as global training implementation & policy-based reform.

Laura’s teaching experience includes classroom instruction at the college level for Quantitative Methods for Economics (Applied Calculus) & Writing Across the Arts (Multimedia Writing & Storytelling).

Laura earned her B.A.’s in Economics (Game Theory, Quantitative Analysis) & American Studies (Virtual Worlds, Film) from the University of California in Santa Cruz. As an undergraduate, she studied Economics & Writing/Film on exchange at the University of British Columbia. She earned her Ed.M. (Masters of Education, Policy & Analysis) from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education in 2011.

Her product development work has been recognized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (Grantee, Next Generation Courseware Challenge, 2014), Fast Company (Finalist, World-Changing Idea, 2020), and various media publications including the Washington Post, ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC’s Nightline, and Engineering & Technology Magazine.

In her personal time, she provides virtual career guidance, mentorship & peer counseling to adults living with mental illness. She is a trauma-informed educator and a certified Crisis Intervention Training Coordinator with CIT International.

Laura lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
