Dr. Essoe is a cognitive neuroscientist and experimental psychologist specializing in learning enhancement. Her research at Johns Hopkins applies learning enhancement strategies to optimize evidence-based treatments for childhood neuropsychiatric conditions (e.g., tic disorders, anxiety). Her research uses technologies such as immersive VR and mobile apps that are integrated with psychophysiology and neuroimaging (fMRI, EEG).
Beyond the laboratory, she enjoys writing novels, theological studies, good company, and good food.
